Jennifer and Nicolas reached out to me a few months ago after finding my work on Junebug weddings. This lovely couple wanted to capture photos of their highland holiday to celebrate their 1 year wedding anniversary on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
The Quiraing
We left our airbnb at 5:30 am to meet Jennifer and Nicolas at the Quiraing at 7. We traveled up from Kyle of Lochalsh to the Quiraing near Portree. The Quiraing on the Isle of Skye is a breathtaking landscape with dramatic cliffs and stunning rock formations. Its unique terrain offers a magical backdrop for photos. As a photographer, I love capturing the vibrant colours and ever-changing light here. Whether it’s misty mornings or sunny afternoons, the Quiraing never disappoints. And the morning we were there! Scotland was SHOWING OFF! It was magical!
The Fairy Glen
After a 4.5-mile hike across the Quiraing, Jennifer and Nicolas were just getting started! They decided to add one more stop to their Highland adventure and headed 20 minutes to the Fairy Glen.
The Fairy Glen in Uig on Skye formed millions of years ago from volcanic activity. Over time, erosion shaped its magical hills and unique formations. Legend says that fairies danced here, creating this enchanting landscape. Visitors can wander through miniature mountains and serene ponds, feeling like they’re in a fairy tale. It’s a whimsical wonderland just waiting to be explored!
Capturing Jennifer and Nicolas’s Highland adventure was amazing! From the stunning Quiraing to the enchanting Fairy Glen, every moment felt magical. Celebrating their 1-year anniversary in such breathtaking scenery made it even more special. I’m so glad to have been part of their journey. I can’t wait to see where their love takes them next!
