Some weddings feel like poetry in motion. Rebecca and Iain’s celebration at Pollokshields Burgh Hall in Glasgow was exactly that—a tender, artful unfolding of love beneath the soft light of history and stained glass. I first met these two mischief-makers during a wedding fayre in Glasgow, and followed up with their engagement session in Oban. That shoot was filled with wind-tousled hair, coastal kisses, and the sort of laughter that slips between the waves. It became instantly clear—this was a love worth documenting in the most cinematic way. A perfect match for my approach as a Scotland based photographer focused on cinematic photography and fine art photography.

A Venue with Soul

Pollokshields Burgh Hall is the kind of venue that holds space for stories. Tucked away in Maxwell Park, it’s one of Glasgow’s finest hidden gems. With its sandstone exterior and vaulted interiors, the building echoes with old Scottish charm and gave us every texture we needed. With light streaming through stained glass, ivy curling up stone, and dark wood interiors that felt like a film set.

It’s a dream location for cinematic wedding photography. Every corner offered a new frame, a new layer of intimacy and mood. As a Scotland photographer who leans into narrative and movement, I couldn’t have asked for a better canvas.

Rebecca & Iain’s Day

From the moment Rebecca stepped into the hall, sunlight catching the edges of her gown, there was magic in the air. Iain’s reaction—soft, stunned, all heart with lipstick on his cheek—was one of my favourite frames of the day. These two are a beautiful blend of grounded and electric. The kind of couple that reminds you love doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.

Their ceremony was full of meaning. Readings chosen with care. Glances exchanged like whispered secrets. They held each other with the ease of old souls who had done this dance in lifetimes before.

Every detail, from the florals to the quiet moments between, was captured using cinematic photography techniques that highlight emotion, depth, and atmosphere.
