When Rowan got in touch with me this past winter, I instantly knew I wanted to be a part of their wedding! Honestly, these two are some of the kindest, sweetest, and most adorable people I’ve ever met.

Usually, my pre-booking consultations last about 45 minutes to an hour. But with Rowan and Ottavia, we ended up chatting for ages! We talked about everything under the sun – dogs, travelling, Italian food, and a million other things. I often joke about finding clients who feel like they were made for me, but these two? They’re like angels sent straight from the heavens!

It was one of those moments where you just click with someone, and you know it’s going to be something special. By the end of our chat, I felt like I’d known them for years. Their warmth and enthusiasm were infectious, and I could already picture how beautiful their wedding would be.

Their wedding took place at the enchanting Kilmartin Castle in Kilmartin, Scotland, just about an hour from Oban. Now, while the weather wasn’t exactly sunny and bright – hey, it’s Scotland, what do you expect? – it was actually quite decent by local standards. There was this soft mist hanging in the air that gave everything a dreamy, almost mythical feel. It was like we had stepped straight into a fairy tale! The castle itself was absolutely stunning, with its ancient stone walls and lush green surroundings. It felt like we were on the set of a romantic movie. The atmosphere was just perfect for capturing those magical moments.

As the day went on, the castle grounds became a playground for capturing intimate and candid moments. Every time I clicked the shutter, I knew these photos would be something truly special. The mist gave everything a soft, diffused light that made every shot look like a painting.

The guests were wrapped up in cosy blankets, sipping on bubbly drinks, and the whole scene was so heartwarming. It felt like one big, happy family gathering in this historic castle, celebrating love and connection. Rowan and Ottavia, looked absolutely radiant, and their joy was contagious. You could see how much they meant to each other in every glance and smile.

We laughed, we cried, and we celebrated. And we drank spritz! Real. Italian. SPRITZ! It was one of those weddings where you just feel grateful to be there, witnessing two amazing people start this new chapter of their lives. The mist might have been a bit chilly, but the love and warmth radiating from everyone made it feel like the sunniest day ever.
